Gurudev, is it alright for ordinary people like me to expect to be liberated?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Only ordinary people have a chance to be liberated. One who thinks they are special, hold no chance at all; especially VIPs, they don’t have a chance.
Are there aliens in this universe?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Yes, I am one of them (laughter). At least, some people think so!
Gurudev, what is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
It is we who give meaning to words and definitions. So it is up to you; if you think knowledge is information and wisdom is to integrate it in life, then that is one way to look at it. Some people don’t see any difference between knowledge and wisdom.
Gurudev, is Ashwatthama really alive or is it just a myth?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Often, when someone dies, we say, ‘Long live so and so!' For example, we say, ‘Long live Indira Gandhi!’ So, chiranjeevi means one who lives in the hearts and memory of people forever. In that sense, if you read The Mahabharata, no one can forget Ashwatthama. If you read The Ramayana, no one can forget Hanuman. So, the spirit is always eternal orchiranjeevi.
What is the specialty of the River Ganges that the water can wash away our karmas?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Yes, it is true that the water from the Ganges is quite special; this is all I can say. Do you know of the 5 Gans? They are Ganga, Ganesha, Guru, Gita and you figure out the fifth one. Someone says Gaan (song) or Gyaan (knowledge); I have told you four, now it is up to you to figure out the fifth one.
Gurudev, there are some rapid fire questions.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:

Gurudev, why is there this huge ego that comes with talent? What is the relationship between ego and talent? For example, many talented singers do not let new singers come up. Why so?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
If there is talent, there will always be some such problems. It is difficult to see all good everywhere, and prakriti (nature) brings some such negative tendency somewhere or the other.
Those who are talented, normally, they are very emotional. They tend to get angry very quickly, lose their balance very fast. These things happen, and we have to manage such things.
